Terms and Conditions

A non-refundable booking fee of $15 or 20% save-the-date payment is required to confirm an order with SweetP Cakes and Cookies. The booking fee covers admin duties associated with the inquiry and booking, as well preparation of your order.   This fee is covered within the price of the order. The booking fee/save-the-date payment is non-refundable and secures a position in the SweetP Cakes and Cookies diary which closes this spot off to other bookings. Orders made within two weeks (2) of your event require full payment to secure your booking, the booking fee is included within this payment. 

Full payment for your order is to be made two weeks (2) weeks before delivery or collection of the cake/cookies/donuts/desserts. Items will not be released unless full payment has been received.

SweetP Cakes and Cookies is unable to accept cancellations of orders placed via email, telephone or website within two weeks (2) of your event regardless of reason. In some, but not all cases, it may be possible for us to offer a credit for a future purchase to use within 12 months on a mutually agreed date. The amount of credit will depend on how much work has already been done on your order and excludes the $15 non-refundable booking fee/save-the-date payment.

COVID-19 LOCKDOWNS/RESTRICTIONS
If you need to postpone your event due to a Covid-19 lockdown, please get in contact with SweetP Cakes and Cookies as soon as possible to discuss your options. These will be assessed on a case by case basis however, in most instances, with a minimum of four (4) days notice, we will be able to credit your account with any monies paid for your order.

In the instance of a snap lockdown, any credit to your account will be determined by how much work we have completed on your order. A Covid-19 lockdown will not entitle you to a refund or override these booking terms and conditions.

Covid-19 rules and regulations differ for every venue and are constantly changing. We require that you keep up to date with the current regulations surrounding food (cake/desserts) etc and any venue restrictions and requirements and let us know of any changes as soon as possible. SweetP Cakes and Cookies is not liable for any rules or regulations that are broken at your event where our food is served or displayed.

We retain the right to cancel the booking ourselves in very unusual circumstances beyond our control, such as ill health or family emergency, during which we will refund any money taken in full or SweetP Cakes and Cookies will organise another local cake decorator to provide a replacement.

All major details must be finalised no less than two (2) weeks prior to the requested delivery date, unless otherwise agreed. (i.e colours, flowers, flavours, fonts etc). Any alterations requested after the initial quote, may result in the initial cake quote being invalid. You will be notified of this change by SweetP Cakes and Cookies.

DIETARY REQUIREMENTS
All dietary requirements must be disclosed upon ordering. SweetP Cakes and Cookies takes no responsibility for any medical conditions as a result of consumption of SweetP Cakes and Cookies products. Whilst we offer allergy friendly options, we are not a gluten/dairy/nut/egg/lactose free kitchen and due to the nature of our business, cannot guarantee that any item is 100% allergen free. All precautions are taken however cross contamination can occur and these products are ordered and consumed at your own risk.
 

DELIVERIES AND COLLECTIONS AND CARE
For deliveries, cutting and structure details will be provided to your venue if required. All responsibility for storage and display within health and safety guidelines etc is transferred to the venue upon delivery. We will ensure your cake is clearly labelled and boxed if left on site. 

For collection, once your order has been collected, all responsibility is transferred to the customer. We make every effort to ensure cakes are structured safely for travel and we are not liable for any loss or damage caused after collection. This includes improper storage, handling or transport.

SweetP Cakes and Cookies takes no responsibility for items, including fresh flowers, that are placed on our cakes by a third party after delivery/collection. Without the appropriate food and safety certifications, third party items have the potential to reduce the serving count and/or render the cake inedible if proper handling procedures are not followed. The cake will no longer be covered by the insurance policy held by SweetP Cakes and Cookies and the client accepts all responsibility for the cake if this occurs.

Buttercream and semi-naked cakes should be refrigerated and brought to room temperature (1-2hrs) prior to serving. Cupcakes and fondant cakes should NEVER be refrigerated, but instead stored in a cool, dry, dark spot, with air-conditioned venue preferred. We cannot be held responsible if your venue does not have appropriate refrigeration or air conditioning to keep your cake/desserts cool and stable and will work with them to organise a later delivery where possible. 

Quotes are valid for 14 days and prices are subject to change without notice. All prices are in the Australian Dollar.

DESIGN
SweetP Cakes and Cookies cannot be held responsible if you simply change your mind or don't like the design. SweetP Cakes and Cookies will create a design within their style/branding c for you based on supplied inspiration imagery and while every effort is made to meet customer expectations, please be aware that in case when images of cakes/desserts are supplied, that the outcome may vary from the images - either through our creative process or availability of products. Not liking a design will not be considered a valid reason for a return/refund. SweetP Cakes and Cookies does not copy other designers work under any circumstances and we retain the right to problem solve and make minor design changes that may effect the decoration, proportion/structure or flower placement, if we determine its required for reasons including but not limited to stability, aesthetics, supply issues etc. Where possible, we will consult with you first on any changes required. Exact colours can be difficult to achieve with food colourings so we cannot guarantee an exact match however we will try our best when requested. If your items is part of a corporate campaign/branding suite, please supply all relevant style guidelines, collateral or colour swatches to ensure the finished product matches.

Where toppers/decorations are provided on cakes (plastic flowers, acrylic toppers, toys, handmade fondant items, fresh or faux flowers) they are strictly provided as decoration only and are not be consumed. They may contain wire/toothpicks/polystyrene which can be dangerous. Please remove these prior to slicing up your cake.

Designs may vary slightly from the displayed image on the website, due to the handmade nature of the products.
 

PHOTOGRAPHY AND MARKETING
SweetP Cakes and Cookies retains the right to photograph and share progress and finished images/videos on social media and our website. We will not to share images/videos of the complete final design until after your event has commenced so we don't ruin the surprise.  
 

PRODUCT RETURNS
In the unlikely circumstance that you may need to return a product, due to the perishable nature, if a complaint is not filed immediately and the product returned in full the same day or the next day at the latest, the item will not be considered for refund. Returning a fraction of the product (ie. 10 slices of a 20 serve cake) will not be considered a return and cannot be considered for a refund. A refund or partial refund may be offered at the discretion of SweetP Cakes and Cookies once they have assessed the returned product in full. All serving guidelines must have been adhered to, ie. served at room temperature, to be considered for a refund. Cakes/desserts picked up early (not the same day of consumption) will not be considered for refund, no matter the problem. There are too many storage variables that we cannot be held responsible for. We cannot offer a refund if you damage or drop a cake after pick up/delivery, if you purchase a cake larger than you need or choose a flavour that you don't like. 

Flowers supplied by SweetP Cakes and Cookies are subject to availability. If your chosen flowers/colours are not available then we will endeavour to match them as closely as possible to those requested. We can not be held responsible if the specific flowers/colours are not available to us on the day.

HIRE ITEMS
A minimum refundable security bond will apply for all hire items. If an item is not returned, broken, damaged or returned with parts missing, payment of the full replacement value of each item is required. The security bond will be refunded once payment is cleared or can be used towards your replacement payment. The hire fee quoted is for a hire period of 3 days. You must organise pickup and drop off times with SweetP Cakes and Cookies. We do not include delivery/collection of hire equipment unless specified (this service incurs an additional charge).

By placing an order with SweetP Cakes and Cookies and paying your booking fee or 20% save-the-date, you are agreeing to the above terms and conditions.
